Processing dynamics

FMR Audio RNE1773 compressors are small, simple and effective, well justify their name: RNC = Really Nice Compressor. I use the first two out of the three units I have in mono for the bass drum and the snare and the third one in stereo for the toms.

Right below the compressor in the rack there is an SPL Transient Designer, which -by my view- should be in every drum rack. Unlike compressors, these units shape the attack and release stages of the sounds without depending on the incoming level, so the settings have identical effect on soft and loud notes. The first two channels are for bass drum/snare drum, channel 3/4 are for the stereo toms.
